AUSTIN, Texas – High conflict custody can be complex and have serious consequences to both parents and children. Most family law attorneys are not equipped or informed to litigate a case involving Parental Alienation – when a parent systematically, intentionally influences a child to reject the other parent. The Bollier Ciccone LLP legal team is uniquely informed and situated to litigate Parental Alienation matters.

Parental Alienation is considered a form of child abuse and is sometimes referred to as child indoctrination, parent coaching, brainwashing, or poisoning. Other common terms associated with Parental Alienation include target parent, parent erasing, and hostile aggressive parenting. This behavior is not only unfair to the parent, it is especially unfair and even psychologically damaging to the child. At Bollier Ciccone LLP, we want to acknowledge Parental Alienation Awareness Day (PAAD) on April 25th.

“Parental Alienation is a complex issue which many people don’t understand and often do not realize it is occurring,” says Bollier Ciccone LLP family law attorney, Leslie J. Bollier. “All too often, we see Parental Alienation in our family law practice. Through our representation of clients in custody matters, as we inform clients of Parental Alienation, they are often shocked and deeply upset. Fortunately, these behaviors can be reversed, though the process can be intense and difficult for families. Analyzing the psychological side of Parental Alienation and successfully litigating require a highly-skilled and experienced team.”
