AUSTIN, December, 2018 – Austin area nonprofits need volunteers and donations year-round, but the demand often increases during the holidays. KCB Law Firm encourages all Central Texans to spread holiday joy by donating cash and time to two of the firm’s favorite local charities, the Junior League of Austin and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Texas Regional Office.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Texas Regional Office provides child safety education, specialized law enforcement training, and child sex trafficking programs across Texas. NCMEC is the nation’s clearinghouse and comprehensive reporting center for all issues related to the prevention of and recovery from child victimization. That includes the fight against abduction, abuse, and exploitation.

“While we’re home enjoying our friends and family, other families are experiencing immeasurable pain and loss,” says Tony Ciccone, civil law attorney. “The least we can do is donate our time and money. Work performed by the NCMEC is very difficult – they deserve our support and appreciation.”

The Junior League of Austin gives hundreds of thousands of dollars in direct financial support and more than 160,000 volunteer hours to over 30 local nonprofits. JLA hosts the annual event A Christmas Affair, a holiday shopping market. One of the event’s beneficiaries is Coats for Kids, which will provide more than 35,000 warm winter coats to Central Texas children in need.

“The fact that some Central Texas children don’t have sufficient winter clothing is frustrating,” says Leslie Bollier, family law attorney. “The fact is, many families have the impossible task of choosing between putting food on the table and properly clothing their children. Giving them a hand up is easy for most Central Texans – and the right thing to do.”

KCB Law Firm is a proud supporter of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, The Junior League of Austin, The Austin Bar Association, American Civil Liberties Union, U.S. Green Building Council, National Trust for Historic Preservation, World Wildlife Fund, Smithsonian, The Nature Conservancy, National Park Foundation, Mack Jack & McConaughey, and YMCA of Austin.
