Established Austin litigation firm seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, organized professional paralegal with five-plus years of experience to support our civil litigation group, which primarily practices in construction, business law, and real estate. Our team values include cooperation, resourcefulness, and forward-thinking abilities.
Experience in construction and real estate litigation is preferred but not required.
Board Certification from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization is highly desired but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist in drafting litigation-related documents including pleadings, discovery, motions, correspondence, contracts, liens, bonds, deeds, and real property instruments, under attorney supervision
- Prepare trial and hearing notebooks
- Review, summarize, and organize documents
- Provide direct assistance to attorneys for hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
- Attend hearings and mediations in support of attorneys, including managing exhibits, coordinating materials, and managing logistics
- File documents electronically with the court, property records offices, and/or other appropriate entities
- Overseeing and monitoring calendar activity and tracking deadlines
- Telephone and in-person contact with clients, court personnel, attorneys, and other legal professionals
- Manage initial client intake including gathering preliminary information and conflict-check coordination
- Keep track of case statuses and team tasks, and follow up to ensure completion
- Maintain, manage, and organize client files
- Supervise and coordinate workflow for litigation assistants
- Conduct legal research
Necessary Skills
- 5+ years of experience in a paralegal/litigation support position
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and strong work ethic
- Forward-thinking ability
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and follow up on tasks
- Professional verbal communication skills
- Strong writing skills and excellent proofreading skills
- Typing speed of 60 words per minute or more with a high accuracy rate

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams), Texas e-filing systems, and Adobe Acrobat.

Experience with Centerbase and Zoom is preferred but not required.
Physical requirements include:
- Sitting for extended periods
- Lifting approximately 20 pounds
- Standing for brief periods
