Katherine L. Obando has exclusively practiced Family Law in Texas since 2017. She is well-respected in the regional legal community and has strong relationships with other counsel and court personnel. Katherine is an important member of the Bollier Ciccone LLP legal team, providing creativity in strategy and settlement discussions, and outstanding client communications. In 2021, she was selected as a Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star, Thomson Reuters, as published in Super Lawyers Magazine and Texas Monthly Magazine. She is also a Preferred Professional for family law attorneys by the Lead Her Board of Texas.

Katherine obtained her law degree from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2017. She has experience in Travis County, Williamson County, Bastrop County, Hays County, and Bell County. An engaged member of the law community, she is a member of the Family Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas, Austin Bar Association, and Hispanic Bar Association.

During her time at Texas A&M School of Law, Katherine was a member of the Hispanic Student Bar Association and served as a Student Ambassador for the law school, often representing the school at recruiting events, tours, and networking opportunities. Katherine also volunteered as a student attorney for the Texas A&M School of Law’s Family Law and Veteran Benefits clinic, on a pro-bono basis.

Katherine graduated from St. Edwards University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology. While at St. Edwards University, she was Vice President of Phi Alpha Delta and a Student Ambassador for the school, serving as a mentor for incoming students. Additionally, Katherine spent a year interning at the Travis County District Attorney’s office while also volunteering with organizations including Habitat for Humanity and American Civil Liberties Union.

While Katherine was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, her family relocated to Austin when she was eleven years old. She considers herself an “Austinite” having attended middle school, high school, and St. Edwards University in Austin. Her family is originally from Nicaragua and she is completely fluent in Spanish, giving her the opportunity to represent Spanish-speaking clientele as the need arises.
