Emily focuses her practice on complex family law matters, including divorce, child custody, modification and enforcement actions, pre- and post-marital agreements, and protective orders. At her best when helping clients through difficult and personal legal matters, Emily is both a caring person and smart legal strategist who is tough when it is needed most yet tuned into the often highly delicate nature of resolving family law matters. Emily is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

An astute negotiator, Emily focuses on achieving her client’s distinct objectives through creative problem-solving. When settlement is possible, Emily works diligently to ensure her clients get what they need and deserve from the legal process. Always prepared, Emily knows her cases inside and out and is not daunted by the prospect of going to court should it benefit her client. Emily is considered by clients and colleagues alike to be tough yet professional, smart yet decidedly down-to-earth, kind, and practical.

A dedicated advocate who is passionate about the law and her clients, Emily honed her deep trial skills while working for the Hays County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney representing the Department of Family and Protective Services in cases involving abuse and neglect of children. Her experience in trying so many cases at the DA’s Office made her fluent in trial procedure and more confident and comfortable in a courtroom today.

While in law school, Emily served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Catharina Haynes of the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, giving her an inside perspective on how the courts function at the appellate level. She was also a student attorney with the W.W. Caruth, Jr. Child Advocacy Clinic, where she represented children as attorney and guardian ad litem in child welfare cases.
