Nearly 40 Children Join Local Families on Austin Adoption Day

February 10, 2020

AUSTIN, Texas – Many Austin homes are bigger and happier in 2020. At the 18th annual Austin Adoption Day, 39 children became part of 23 families. The event took place at Gardner-Betts Juvenile Justice Center. This year’s theme was “There’s No Place Like Home,” and included games, prizes, and magic. Bollier Ciccone LLP staff volunteered in the library, donating books to families.

Several organizations and agencies work together on Austin Adoption Day including Austin Bar Foundation, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and CASA of Travis County, along with Travis County Juvenile Probation, Travis County Office of Child Representation, and more.

“This family event was special. It reminded me of things we take for granted,” says Bollier Ciccone LLP family law attorney, Saira Ukani. “Seeing the deep emotional impact to these families was inspiring. I’m proud to be part of Austin Bar Foundation and look forward to volunteering again.”
